Travel Warning: Avoid A5036

11th September 2012

Travelers are warned to avoid a section of the A5036 in Liverpool, which remains closed, with repairs likely to take up to seven days after a burst water main caused chaos last week.

The Highways Agency has advised operators to avoid the area leading up to the Liverpool Docks through the Switch Interchange, closed since last week, 6th September.

Traffic along the diversion route will remain heavy until repair works have been completed.

The southbound carriageway of the A5036 Dunnings Bridge Road is expected to remain closed between its junctions with Copy Lane and Heysham Road while work is undertaken.

A diversion onto the southbound M57 to junction 6 where drivers can rejoin the Westbound A5036 at Church Road is in place.

The Highways Agency has reminded operators that drivers should check the latest traffic information before setting out on journeys. You can find this travel information here.
